Waterside Property has been shortlisted in two separate categories in the national Negotiator awards for estate agents.
The ‘Negotiator Awards’ are the UK's premier awards for estate agents, lettings agents, property managers, auctioneers and industry suppliers and are widely recognised as the property industry’s Oscars.
Nominated for ‘Scotland Agency of the Year’ and ‘National Small Agency of the Year’ is an outstanding achievement for the independent agency, which was formed in 2009 by Kirn man Gary Campbell and fellow director Gordon Beattie. After the tragic death of Gary in 2013, his brother Scott joined the board to work alongside Gordon with Scott overseeing the hands-on side and Gordon looking after the finances, website and the social media side of the business.
The Negotiator Awards are considered to be the premier awards for the industry in the entire UK. Last year’s winner of the Scottish award was McEwan Fraser and Associate Director, Bill Corbett, commented: “To be named the best in Scotland it a truly wonderful accolade. ‘The Negotiator’ magazine is the most trusted of brands in UK agency terms and has kept generations of estate and letting agents in touch and informed with the news, developments and supplier services.”
Waterside Property is the only Argyll-based estate agency out of the six nominated for the Scotland Agency of the Year award. The others are located in Edinburgh, Glasgow, Ayrshire, West Lothian and Angus. Possibly more impressive, however, is the fact that Waterside Property is the only Scottish agency to make the shortlist for the National Small Agency Awards section, which is open to agencies throughout Britain with between one and three branches.
Scott said: “To reach two shortlists is a tremendous achievement for us, for any estate agency in fact. The Negotiator magazine is distributed to 20,000 estate and letting agents so that maybe puts it into perspective how much of an honour this is. And, the feat is even more impressive given that this year was a record-breaking year for entries.
“Waterside Property has always taken great pride in everything we do, from the initial valuation of a property to the conclusion, and beyond if need be. We have got a fantastic team from Nikki who runs the office, to Liz the main viewing agent plus our other viewing agents Shona, Leigh and Raymond. All of them deserve immense credit in our continuing success.”
Gordon added: “For a small operation we are doing extremely well. The latest Rightmove stats show that we have agreed more sales than any other agency in this area this year. We have just updated our website, purchased a new company car adorned with our logos and are heading towards 1000 likes on our Facebook page. We realise that marketing and social media are paramount to a business like ours and we firmly believe that we have got everything right in that side of things. Actually, there is not much that we don’t have right!”
The awards ceremony is a black-tie event at the exclusive London Hilton in November. The evening, which the two directors will be attending, will hopefully be one to remember for Waterside Property. Regardless whether Waterside wins outright or not, just being there is another fantastic chapter of the ongoing success story.
